These are a set of lectures given as part of a course on VLSI Design Techniques organized by the ICTP-UNU-Microprocessor Laboratory (a department of the ICTP - The Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics). The lectures focus on CMOS devices, technology and digital circuits. They are an introduction to full custom IC design techniques. These lectures (in different forms) were presented in: · Trieste, Italy, November 1998 · Trieste, Italy, November 1999 · Lima, Peru, November 2000 · Trieste, Italy, October 2001 · Manila, Philippines, November 2002 · Kumasi, Ghana, November 2003 · Puebla, Mexico, November 2004 · Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, July, 2008 · Mar del Plata, Argentina, March, 2010 A complement to these lectures can be found in CERN's microelectronics group pages, where my colleagues Jorgen Christiansen and Giovanni Anelli present an overview of IC design tools, methodologies and an introduction to CMOS analogue circuit design. You will find other CERN tutorials following these links: · Electronics in High Energy Physics (ELEC 2002). A series of fifteen lectures on electronics, given by CERN physicists and engineers. These lectures were recorded and can be view online (image + sound). · Analogue and Digital Techniques in Closed Loop Regulation Applications. A series of twelve lectures on ADCs and control theory, given by CERN physicists and engineers. These lectures were recorded and can be view online (image + sound). |
