These are a set of introductory lectures to integrated
Delay-Locked Loops, Phase-Locked Loops and their applications. You will
find here both the lectures and the lecture notes. For the main bulk of
the material the lecture notes should be sufficient for a first reading
about the subject. For those looking for an in-depth study a set of
references are suggested at the end of the last chapter: 'PLL applications'.
A good review of DLLs for TDC applications can be found in Manuel Mota Ph.
D. thesis that you can download from this site.
Source code for PLL simulation can be as well downloaded
from this site. A bang-bang PLL is modeled using MATLAB and a serializer,
with its PLL, is modeled using Verilog. Both files should run as they are
when used with MATLAB or Verilog respectively. Please note that they are
given here as an examples of PLL modeling and that I can not give any
support on their use.
